Starting this evening, Popular Science hits the small screen with the TV show PopSci’s Future Of, airing Mondays at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on the Science Channel. Through interviews with maverick scientists and explorations of prototypes, each episode examines how one important characteristic of human life will fundamentally change within our lifetimes. And at least one of the first two episodes (on superhumans and play) will feature Media Lab research.
According to host Baratunde Thurston’s Twitter feed, they shot “LOTS of segments” (emphasis his) in Boston. I’m speculating here, but I’ll venture to say some more of that cutting-edge Boston work has MIT ties.
And, yet another (non-Boston-related) Twitter post mentions filming the Terrafugia Transition, the flying car created by Carl Dietrich ’99, SM ’03, PhD ’07. Be sure to set your DVR.
